Episode 8: Star-Encircled Dragon Quest, the Redux

The next day.

Scheduling conflicts were fixed, and so the people who fought in the Deal Or No Deal incident finally meet at a cafe within the ELJCC.

Matthew Luke: Salamat at nagkita-kita pa tayo.
Katie: Busy kasi ako sa panibagong trabahong ibinigay sa akin ni Ma'am K.
Kira: Kami naman, busy sa maintenance ng mga Gundam namin.
Kim: At kami'y may shooting ng "Love Spell".
Mizuki: At kami'y ininterbyu tungkol sa paglagay ng mga shows namin sa Channel 2 man o sa Hero TV.
Hyacinth: Well, dahil natapos na ang mga pinagkaabalahan ninyo, pwede na tayong magsimula.
Matthew Luke: Sinabi mo pa. Well, here's the gist: na-transfer na si Hero sa GMA, kaya umisip tayo ng plano para bumalik siya rito.

What they didn't know, Henry has an ace up his sleeve. The place in Metro Manila where he hides and was kept secret in episode 6 is now revealed to be... the ruins of an open-air theater situated near SM North Edsa.

Henry: Ayan, tapos na ang aking preparasyon para sa mind alteration technique para sa aking pinakamamahal na kapatid. Ngayon, pwede na itong i-activate.

Henry activates the mind alteration sequence, and...

While Hero signs a formal contract with GMA's top brass...

Hero: AAAAGGGGHHHH! Ang sakit ng ulo ko! AAAAGGGGGHHHH!
Mr. Gozon: Ano ang nangyayari sa kanya?
Ms. Galvante: May migraine ba si Mr. Angeles?

But the headache suddenly stops after a few seconds.

Mr. Gozon: OK ka lang ba?
Hero: (pause) Heh heh heh... Kayo ba ang mga pinuno ng GMA?
Ms. Galvante: Siyempre naman! Bakit hindi?
Hero: OK lang ba sa inyo... na wasakin ang mga Lopez?
Mr. Gozon: Hindi ko inaasahan ito, pero dahil iyon ang pinakapakay ko, sige! Durugin mo na ang kalaban para mananatili tayong No. 1!
Hero: Masusunod, Panginoong Gozon at Panginoong Galvante.
Ms. Galvante: Pag-igihan mo, bagong alaga.

And then, the mind-altered Hero rushes to the ABS-CBN compund to destroy the network just the way GMA's bosses like it. Back at the cafe...

Sachiko: Bibili pa tayo ng mamahaling kotse para sa negotiations?
Gerald: Can afford naman yang kotse ng mga Lopez, kaya---

Sounds of explosions rock the compound.

"ALERT! ALERT! UNIDENTIFIED INTRUDER ATTACKING THE COMPOUND! EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY!"

Saber: May sumasalakay?
Naruto: Kailangan nating kumilos!
Hyacinth: Meeting adjourned!

The group has to cut their meeting short to find out the source of the explosions. On their way, they meet Pritong Kandule.

P. Kandule: Oh, mga kaalyado ko doon sa Big Brother House siege! Kumusta kayo?
Matthew Luke: Ah, kilala kita. Ikaw si... Pritong Kandule, no?
P. Kandule: P***, tama ka. Pero tawagin mo akong Ninong.
Hyacinth: OK, Ninong, ba't ka pumunta rito?
P. Kandule: Noong nagkahiwalay kami ni Hero doon sa UP, sinubukan kong mag-training sa isang malapit na talahiban. Nag-training ako ng ilang araw. Tapos narinig ko ang mga tsismaks na lumipat daw si Hero sa GMA dahil kay Kris Aquino. Kaya hayun, sumugod ako rito sa ABS para labanan ang p***ng Kris na iyon.
Ayu: Uguu~~! Sumilong naman tayo! Baka naman tayo madamay sa pagsabog! Hindi ko pa naman nakakain ang taiyaki ko! Uguu~~!
Athrun: OK, sumilong muna tayo!

The group finds a bomb shelter within the compound, and they hide there for the time being.

Meanwhile, Hero is still busy attacking the compound, knocking out the guards who get in his way. He gradually climbs the ELJCC to reach the rooftop.

Hero: Kapag pinasabog ko ang buong building na ito mula rito sa itaas, siguradong mawawala na ang network na nagtaksil sa akin! Heh heh heh!

But a man pops up from somewhere in the rooftop.

Joseph: Hoy, Hero! Buti't nagpakita ka. Alam ko na dahil Kapuso ka na, natural na sasalakay ka sa base ng kalaban.
Hero: Siyempre naman, Joseph Bitay-col! Para magiging mas masaya ang mga Pilipino kapag walang kumpetisyon sa network! At saka para agawin si Sandy mula sa iyong mga maruruming kamay!
Joseph: Sumosobra ka talaga. Asar lang mula kay Kris, OA ka na agad? Talagang utak-pulbura ka.
Hero: Natalo ka sa akin dati. Ngayon, hindi lang talo ang ititikim mo, kundi kamatayan!
Joseph: Hambog ka talaga. Sige na, umpisa na ng dwelo!

HEAVEN OR HELL -- LET'S ROCK!

[Duel: Hero Angeles versus Joseph Bitangcol]

Attack:
Bumigay ka sa aking espada...
Mabuti. Aatake ako kung gusto ko.
Magsusugat ang talim na ito, siyempre.
At ngayon, para sa aking susunod na galaw...
Aatake ako. Anong gagawin mo, pangahas?

Defend:
...
Hmph...
Sige! Tingnan natin kung may ibubuga ka.
Aber kung gagalusin mo ako!
Patunayan mo na Hero ka!

Deathblow:
Sorry... pero tatapusin ko ang buhay mo gamit ito.
Matatapos na ang dwelong ito gamit ang galaw na ito.
Tinalo mo ako dati... pero tatabla na ngayon!
Gusto mo ba ng Fatality? Animality? Brutality?
Sa ngalan ni Sandara, pupuksain kita!

[Duel ends abruptly, due to...]

"TTTTTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLL!!!"

Beyond the shadow of a doubt, it is Sandara's voice that breaks up the duel.

Hero & Joseph: S-Sandara?
Sandara: (pants) Oo, ako nga.

Just as the figure of Sandara appears, Hero surprisingly recovers from his mind alteration effect. He then falls on his knees.

Joseph: Heh heh. Talo ka na ngayon, bayaning maraming galis.
Sandara: Tigilan ninyo ang pang-aasar sa isa't-isa. I'm begging you two!
Joseph: S-sorry, Sandy... napasobra kasi ako...
Sandara: At sorry sa pag-hang-up ko sa iyo kagabi. Hindi ko na tuloy sinabi ang isang importanteng bagay sa iyo.
Joseph: Na ano?
Hero: (joining in) Na minanipula tayong lahat ni Henry Angeles. Hindi ko na siya itinuturing na kapatid ngayon.
Joseph: Ha?
Sandara: Oo. Tama si Hero. Ginawa niya iyon para sa kanyang makasariling hangarin.
Hero: Kaya tinalikuran ko na ngayon ang paglipat sa GMA. Hindi ko pala alam na hahantong sa ganito ang ginawa ko.
Joseph: Ayan, pinagsisihan ko rin ang ginawa kong rekomendasyon sa iyo, Sandy, na makipaghiwalay kay Hero. Sinabi kasi iyon ng isang misteryosong boses sa akin dati. Di ko namalayan na si Henry pala iyon hanggang sa ngayon.
Sandara: Sige, tama na ang pagsisisi. Ngayong balik sa normal tayong lahat, oras na para magkaisa!
Joseph: Magkaisa?
Hero: Oo. Ginawa namin iyan ni Sandy at ng iba pang mga dati naming kasama laban kay Melficio Victorialuna.
Sandara: At ngayon, hindi ka lang namin kasama, Joseph. May mga iba pa na tutulong sa atin. At marami-rami pa.
Joseph: Wow, ayos!
Hero: Sige. Oras na!

The three raise their weapons towards the direction of the sky.

Hero, Sandara, Joseph: All for one, and one for all!

They then rush downstairs into the building.

Meanwhile, at the office of the top brass...

Kris: That pesky Hero has infiltrated our beloved ABS-CBN! Akala ko kung sino na, siya na pala!
Cristy: Kaya para mawala na sa mundong ito ang nagpapakilalang bayani...
Alfie: ...kailangang may mga halimaw na magha-hunting sa kanya!
Kris, Cristy, Alfie: Malalaos na siya magpakailanman! Open the creatures from the unknown dimension!!

A portal appears near them, and from it comes out a battalion of monsters.

Kris, Cristy, Alfie: Sige, sugurin siya!

Meanwhile, after another airing of his talk show "Home Boy", Boy Abunda reads the ABS-CBN Forums via his WiFi-capable laptop. There he reads the latest sentiments of the forumites.

Boy Abunda: Hmm... marami na ang bumabatikos sa paglipat ni Hero sa GMA. At saka... Ha?

He reads a message by someone who goes by the handle name of Anime Kabayan. It reads:

"Kahit na anime fan ako, hindi ibig sabihin na wala akong alam sa anumang developments sa showbiz. Personally, ayaw na ayaw ko na malipat si Hero sa GMA. Nararamdaman ko lang na may mga masasamang mangyayari sa ABS-CBN kapag ginawa niya ito. And to Mr. Boy Abunda, if you read this, nagsusumamo ako. Please break off your friendship with Kris Aquino, Cristy Fermin, and Alfie Lorenzo. IF YOU REALLY SHOW YOUR IMPARTIALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM, THEN DO SO. This message is not only my sentiment, but also the sentiment of practically everyone else not just here in the forums, but elsewhere. Iyan na po ang kabuuan ng aking mensahe."

After some seconds of contemplation...

Boy Abunda: I decide. I'll champion the cause of bringing Hero back to ABS-CBN. Kahit na masibak ako, kung tama ang ipinaglalaban ko at ng marami pang Pilipino, so there. There's no stopping me.

At the same time, from her residence, Erich Gonzales, the Star Circle Quest Season 2 champion, feels the same way.

Erich: Hero... Ang puso mo ay nauumapaw sa kadakilaan. If you really want to go back to where we both came despite the odds, sasama ako sa laban mo!

She then takes a spear, one of her family's sacred heirlooms, from the house's storage room. She swings it a little (and taking care not to break some stuff in the process), and then puts it into her ready-made scabbard/holster.

Erich: With my mastery of the spear, walang makahahadlang sa adhikain ko! I mustn't waste the title of the champion that has bestowed unto me!

And then she leaves her abode towards the ABS-CBN compound.

Now, back to the compound.

At the base of the ELJCC, Matt's group and Sandara's group cross paths.

Matthew Luke: Yes! Hero, you're back!
P. Kandule: EN ALAYB EN KIKING!
Hero: Ah, mga dati kong nakasama sa Big Brother House defense. Nice to meet you all again.
Joseph: Don't you all recognize me?
Hyacinth: Syempre naman, we recognize you. You're Joseph Bitangcol.
Mizuki: Nice to meet you, Joe.
Gerald: Nice to meet you too.
Katie: Me three.
Kira: Me four.
Hero: OK, tama na ang counting. Paano kayo nakapasok, by the way?
Asa: Mahaba-habang usapan 'yan.
Kim: But to make the long story short, nag-meeting kaming lahat ukol sa pagpapabalik ni Hero, pero may mga pagsabog, kaya sumilong muna kami.
Sandara: Kami naman... hinanap ko sina Hero at Joseph noong naramdaman ko na magdudwelo sila sa rooftop ng building na ito. Nagdwelo nga sila, at tinigilan ko ito gamit ang sigaw ko.
Sachiko: Hmm... napansin ko at napapansin din nating lahat na nawala na ang mga pagsabog noong narinig namin ang sigaw mo.
Matthew Luke: Suspetsa ko lang ito, pero gumawa ng mind alteration si Henry para mailampaso ng isa na namang beses ang ABS-CBN ng GMA sa ratings.
Arcueid: Ratings lang, hahantong sa ganito? Ganito ba kaganid ang mga tao? (senses something) Ha? Isang familiar?
Yumi: Ano ang familiar?
Arcueid: Isang halimaw na nagkakatawang-hayop na kadalasan ay alagad ng isang makapangyarihan. Naranasan ko ang makalaban ang mga iyon noong kasama ko pa si Shiki.
Hyacinth: Aaahhh...
Sandara: At nararamdaman ko... na ang mga familiar na iyon... ay mga alagad nina... Kris Aquino, Cristy Fermin, at Alfie Lorenzo!
P. Kandule: P***NG MGA HINAYUPAK NA IYON! Ayaw pa rin nilang tigilan si Hero!
Matthew Luke: OK, magsama-sama tayong lahat. Sabi nga ni Cesar Montano, mas malakas pag sama-sama!
Everyone else: YES!

And now, they all head out to hunt down the unholy trio and bring ABS-CBN back to normal.
